Product FeaturesOrtovoxs' new X1 digital-analog avalanche transceiver has a wide range and pinpoint search technology. This new technology offers a wide range and a direct search path delivering considerably shorter search times, even for novices.
Three directional arrows indicate the path while the X1 quickly calculates the direction, shows the distance and increases the volume as you search The new search technology also decreases the search time for finding multiple people in your party.
The X1 has a comfortable one-strap system that is safe and secure. It is compatible with all avalanche transceivers. It uses two easily accessible batteries and offers a 5 year manufacturers warranty. Images |

Voted 3/5 | I've only been using the X1 for two seasons now, but have had no major issues with it. After testing out the BCA Tracker and Mammut Barryvox, I decided if I were to purchase a new unit I would go with one of those two(Bought the X1 on sale for cheap).
It seems to have a more limited range than some other units, though is still plenty adequate for large searches. I'm not a huge fan of the harness/attachment strap, it seems awkward to use and release when necessary. The unit is also a little heavier than some of the newer smaller units. In the end it works, it'll find someone, and maybe help save lives. | | Posted Feb 10, 2007 7:33 pm |
