Product Description

Jack Turner is a pholosopher/climber. Having spent nearly 40 years climbing in the Teton's as well as the rest of the world, he has become an intimate expert on these mountains. Beginning his career guiding for Exum Guides and learning to climb by none other than Glen Exum himself, Jack has more than enough credibility to write a book on the mountains that defined his life.

This book recounts all the time he spent climbing in and being a part of this range and it is written beautifully. His prose reminds me of John McPhee and Loren Eisley in that his beautiful descriptions of nature, the peaks and his thoughts paint a picture so well that it puts the reader right there in the element.

A superbly written book, I couldn't put it down once I started.
