Product Description

Climbing has been "sending" since 1970 and is probably the most widely read magazine about the sport in the U.S. if not the world. While focusing mainly on pure rock climbing, trad, mostly sport, the rag does cover alpine, bouldering and ice climbing a bit here and there.

Newsflash
I'm not really much of a pure rock climber, but I do enjoy reading the articles, which are usually really good and informative, every month. Most are written by the "pros" in the sport, Micah Dash et. al. and like I already mentioned, are of high quality.

This magazine gives a lot of "bang-for-the-buck" in my opinion because it is densly packed with many articles, features, Q&A, and lots of reader letters. The advertising is about average for any magazine. Great photography can be seen throughout as well. Every Jan/Feb they have the Golden Piton Awards in which they award climbers from all aspects of the sport for groundbreaking climbs the year before.

All in all a great magazine for the money.

jfoxNot bad...

but not great. I wished that they would cover more alpine and ice climbing...its climbing too and the title is "Climbing" not "Sport Climbing", so that's my main beef. Decent articles usually, but sometimes it can be boring.
