User Description

I needed a 3/4 shank boot that was more stiff than the Sundowner. The Alpine GTX fit the bill great. I am a real proponent of the Vasque brand and have owned various Vasque product for the last 20 years. They all seem to fit my foot great so I have stayed with them. The GTX is strong and waterproof. The laces are easy to use and extra long. Putting on gaiters is smooth. I use Black Diamond crampons and they fit and attach easily. I took these boots to the Tetons last year and my feet never were uncomfortable over a 4 day trip. I used them hiking, stomping across glaciers, going across talus and scree. The rubber on the boot is also pretty sticky. I tested this going up the Crestone Needle in Colorado with these boots and had to do some low level class five climbing with them. As with my other Vasque boots I like these alot.
