Former park ranger Richard Rossiter is a master when it comes to maps and topos, and his detailed, accurate route descriptions make this book essential for anyone intending to climb in Boulder. Voted 1/5 | probably the bible of Boulder Canyon. Most topo's are easy to read and are accompanied by B&W photo's of the crag. I've seen better books for other areas, but this one suffices for BC.
The addition of ice climbing information is a bonus.
Edit: Update (8/2008), after having used this book more extensively, I don't really like it after all. The b&w topo drawings SUCK ASS. The b&w pictures SUCK MORE ASS. Most routes are not even drawn on the b&w pictures...not sure why. If you mention a route in your book, please show it on the photo's or the topo...geesh! I really hope a new guide comes out that is similar to the Clear Creek Canyon guide by Darren Mabe. | | Posted Dec 13, 2007 4:44 pm |
