Product Description

As Thuraya claims, "The SG-2520 is the only satellite smartphone in existence". Works in Thuraya's coverage area (see links below), and outside it through roaming system. Also functions with a GSM SIM card as an ordinary cellular phone. A new coverage area (planned by the end of 2007) will extend Thuraya's services into China, Indonesia, Australia.

Thuraya recently released a cheap tariff prepaid SIM-card, called ThurayaECO, with fixed call rates to landlines/cellular phones for 0.39 USD per minute (only for calls originating from 83 pre-specified countries).

Finally a sat phone which catches up with technology;)

Superb voice quality. Loads of extras. I recommend to have an extra battery, especially if extensively using the phone's features.

Yes, I own a SG-2520 and so far I'm satisfied. The initial software version has some growing pains (I've had phone crashing twice), hopefully these will be removed by the upgrades.
