Product Description

Build for speed, these ice screws have an easy-to-grip hanger that makes it simple to insert with one hand.

  • Never drop another screw! Free-floating hanger allows you to remain clipped to pro during insertion or extraction

  • Floating hanger reduces the chance that the rope will dislodge anchor placement and also reduces rope drag

  • Aggressive teeth bite into the ice with 1.5 rotations; polished surface enables easy, smooth placement

  • Protective sleeve protects you and your gear
  • Features

    jfoxNot bad...

I got 1 each of the 10cm, 13cm, 17cm. REI had these on sale for $39 so I picked them up.

I finally got these out on ice and they worked very well! Screwed in the ice very easily and felt solid. I didn't fall on them though! I can't really compare their performance to many others besides the BD Turbo Express screws, but there was no noticable difference I thought.

A couple of bonuses though that these screws have over others is that with the "bolt" like feature, you can unscrew them with the draw still on the rope so there's less chance to drop one. Also, if after you've clipped your draw into the screw you find that it's back-clipped, you can just rotate the "bolt" and wa-la! No more back-clippage! With other screws you'd have to unclip the draw to do this.
