A simple device to determine the angle of a slope for predicting avalanche probability.- Slope meter on one side of card has round scale with pointer that moves as angle of card is moved
- Place ski pole on slope surface, then place bottom edge of slope meter on ski pole to take reading, or sight with bottom edge parallel to slope
- Back side of card has "topo-graf" scales which allow you to measure the slope angle on a topographic map

Voted 4/5 | A decent little slope meter, small, light, easy to use. The needle does take a bit to slow down to its' reading but otherwise its great. Its a slopemeter...what else ? | | Posted Mar 31, 2004 10:52 pm | | miztflip | Untitled Review
Voted 5/5 | Very simple and easy to use. The markings are easy to read and the scales on the back allow you to get a rough estimate of slope from a topo map.
Card is a bit delicate and I've broken at least one.
Wouldn't head into the backcountry without one. | | Posted Nov 28, 2004 9:01 am | | sisyphus | Untitled Review
Voted 5/5 | This is a great tool for the backcountry. I've used other inclinometers on compasses, and this is far better. I tied a small cord around it, and I keep it around my neck for easy access. | | Posted Jun 12, 2005 12:01 pm |
