Voted 5/5 | Yes! These are a great addition to my collection. I have the MHW Power Stretch gloves that are nice for cool temps but not wind/water resistant enough when climbing steep spring snow. I also have some Scott snowboarding gloves that are just too much for technical climbing (too bulky and sloppy on the hands).
So I picked up these bad-boys and they fit right in between. Firm, snug, warm and dexterous. Nice padding on the back of the hands for optimal protection from falling ice fragments and rocks etc. | | Posted May 3, 2007 2:48 pm | | nartreb | perfect for ice climbing | |
Hasn't voted | Grippy and sensitive leather palms, warm and waterproof without being too hot or too cold, good length of sleeve and easy to tighten down or remove with the velcro strap. Even have a bit of extra padding over the knuckles for those times when your swing brings your hand into contact with the ice.
Also useful for skiing and winter hiking, as a medium-warmth glove for when fleece isn't enough but heavy mittens are overkill.
Haven't tried competing brands, but very happy with these even though they were a budget-stretcher at the time I bought them. | | Posted Oct 22, 2008 12:08 pm |
