Redesigned for 2004
From the manufacturer:
By popular demand we’ve brought back a low top Guide Tennie. This shoe can hike 10 miles into a climb, then ascend a 5.13 route (or better yet, a thousand feet of fourth-classing). We’ve studied previous versions of our classic “Guide shoes,” and have created a new GT that’s better fitting, better performing and better looking than ever. The new last has a rocker, which makes walking efficient and comfortable. |

Voted 4/5 | This is my third a pair. I purposely purchase 1/2 size over street - so I could use a set of gel arch and heel inserts to make a better all around fit. The gel inserts are superior to the very poor stock insert. I'm use to this kind of shoe for moderate 5th class climbing - they're on par with previous versions I've purchase over the years, and better than the 5.10's mountain master boot. They're lite on my feet, and suspect the uppers won't hold up to very much crack climbing abuse. Suggest gel or ortho inserts, and nikwax to protect and try and prolong the useful life of the leather uppers. | | Posted Sep 26, 2005 4:01 pm | | slowpoke | Get new inserts | |
Hasn't voted | You will need to replace the insoles as the previous review stated. The stock ones are terrible and will kill your feet. Other than that these shoes are great even for multiday approahces and long climbing days like the Grand. | | Posted Jan 20, 2007 3:26 am |
